Tina Bobbe is a German designer whose work transforms everyday objects into sculptural design pieces. Inspired by the bold colours and playful forms of 1980s postmodern design, she reinterprets familiar objects and gives them a distinct, expressive presence. Often beginning as digital experiments, she realises her designs as physical objects through local craftsmanship.
Her iconic Pipe Frame Mini is a sculptural frame designed to house an espresso machine, transforming a familiar appliance into a bold and playful object. Her object Stone Drip continues her exploration of coffee making objects. Crafted from stacked layers of natural stone and resin, the piece translates her bold design language into the realm of pour-over coffee. Each piece is handcrafted in Germany, combining experimental form with precise craftsmanship.
Born in 1989 in the eastern part of Germany, Tina Bobbe studied mechanical engineering and industrial design in Berlin and Dresden. Before establishing her design practice, she worked as a scientific design researcher and pursued a PhD focused on exploring the design of objects for communicating technological research.
